Core Switches
The Cisco/HP/Core switch is not a particular class of network switch. It refers to the data switch that is situated in the physical core or backbone of the network and is used to carry traffic to different network segments. In data centers, a switch made by Cisco, HP, and Core can be either an MPLS switch or a layer 2 switch.
